Officially opened a new ferry port in Tkon on the island of Pašman

With the docking of the ferry on the line Biograd - Tkon, a new ferry port was officially opened today in Tkon on the island of Pašman. In total, more than HRK 45 million was invested in its construction, and the final phase, worth HRK 32.5 million, is the first port infrastructure project in Croatia financed from 🇪🇺 funds. Along with Zadar County Prefect Božidar Longin and Mayor of Tkon Anđelo Palaškov, the opening was attended by Minister Oleg Butković and State Secretary Josip Bilaver.

It is intended to accept ferries up to a depth of 50 meters, the pier is 6 meters wide and 54 meters deep. The depth along the pier is 4 meters, which satisfies the planned maximum draft of the ferry of 2.60 m. Each berth has a standard concrete ramp for ferry docking.

This project upgraded the existing port of county importance in Tkon (island of Pašman) with a year-round ferry line Biograd - Tkon, which is also the ninth in the number of transported passengers and eleventh in the number of transported vehicles in ferry traffic in Croatia. The main goal of this project is to improve the organization of maritime transport services throughout the year to ensure the availability of daily activities for the island's population, and to reduce congestion, waiting and congestion during peak hours, which will ultimately reduce the load on existing port facilities island connectivity as a prerequisite for the economic and social development of the island.
