Croatian yard secures order to build 125m superyacht
Croatian shipyard Brodosplit has signed a deal to build a 125m (410ft) superyacht for an undisclosed customer, according to senior company representatives.
“We are certain that we will meet the deadline in 2025,” Dino Donjerković, sales director of the Croatian company, told local broadcaster Hrvatska Radiotelevizija (HRT). Donjerković said that the superyacht will come with “extravagant” features “in various aspects” and that, together with a second vessel that Brodosplit was recently commissioned to build, the two contracts will generate a total of €200m (US$227m) for the company. Under the plan, the megayacht will be able to carry 12 passengers and a crew of 50, according to the yard’s sales director. Brodosplit operates its shipyard in Split, on the country’s Adriatic coast, where it employs more than 2,000 people. The company has built more than 460 vessels over the past 70 years, and as much as 80% of its output is intended for export sales. Brodosplit is part of local multi-industry holding DIV Group.
