After many years of construction, Marina Polesana opened its doors

After many years of construction, Marina Polesana was opened in Pula, as part of the first phase of a large nautical and tourist project on the island of St. Catherine in the Bay Monumenti in Pula. It was officially opened by the Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković as an envoy of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, noting that, with the ACI marina in Rovinj opened a few years ago, this is now the largest marina in Istria.

“Such investments contribute to the development, not only of Istria but of the whole of Croatia. New, over 300 berths, of which 244 "wet" and 42 dry berths, with all the accompanying facilities bring a new dimension to this beautiful bay which is naturally protected, in fact it is entering a new phase of development, since the army was here until a few years ago and it was quite neglected, "said Minister Oleg Butković and congratulated the investor.

Namely, Marina Polesana is the first realized phase of the large project Katarina Monumenti implemented by Kermas Istra, and will have four floating piers with a total of 304 connections and service facilities in reconstructed and converted buildings on the island of Sv. Katarina and on the mainland. It should be reminded that the Government passed the Decision on granting a 50-year concession and announced a tender for the construction and economic use of two special purpose ports, and for the construction of a hotel complex located on the Monumenti Peninsula.

“On this occasion, Minister Butković, in a statement for the media, also referred to the investments in the reconstruction of the port and waterfront that are currently being carried out on the Adriatic and amounting to more than 2 billion kuna.

"Croatia is a maritime country, a country facing the sea and for a long time there has been no investment in waterfronts and breakwaters, in that sense, I think we are doing a good thing," said Minister Butković, today they amount to around 25 billion kuna, and these investments in port infrastructure are very important.

"It's not just the protection of the waters, it's not just the island connection, it's the face and the face of every place, every city, and this is today's investment. Pula is worth much more today, it is on the nautical map of the world." Minister Butković pointed out how important this is due to the fact that guests who come to the marina will also come to Pula.
