World champions celebrate in Zadar
The Trogir crew Mataran 24 is the winner of the Luka Baustoffe CRO Melges 24 Cup regatta in Zadar, which was organized by the Uskok Sailing Club and featured 16 crews from Croatia, Italy and Poland.

While on the first day the sailors struggled with changeable winds, in which only one race was held, the Zadar ‘super Sunday’ brought stable weather, in which the regatta committee managed to complete as many as four races. The Trogir crew simply flew under such conditions and secured a celebration in Zadar with three victories and one second place.
The two-time world champions in the Corinthian division thus ended the dominance of the Razjaren crew, which had been unbeatable in the Luka Baustoffe CRO Melges 24 Cup regattas for almost a year. Second place in the overall competition was won by the Panjić crew, while the last place on the podium went to the Razjaren crew.
‘This regatta brought back memories of the national championship that was sailed in Zadar a few years ago, which we won in similar weather conditions. On the first day, we finished in ninth place due to unstable conditions, but on the second day we sailed with ease. Ante Ćesić and the team have been going a bit too far lately, someone finally needed to stop them,’ said Mario Škrlj, a member of Mataran 24.

While Ante Ćesić and the Razjaren crew have stopped, his brother Stjepan continues his successes in the Corinthian division. After Hvar and Biograd, the Little A crew recorded their third consecutive victory in the Luka Baustoffe CRO Melges 24 Cup regatta in Zadar, ahead of the Zen and Panjić junior crews.
‘After each regatta, we review the footage from the cameras we have on board in order to progress even further as a crew and reduce the number of mistakes to a minimum. The result is visible, we are currently the best crew in the Corinthian division,' said Stjepan Ćesić, helmsman on Melges Little A.
