The Plaja - Beach Finder mobile application digitizes 50 percent of the Croatian coast

Dejan Grepo from Split has designed an application that answers the most common question of every guest - where is the beach? Namely, he created a mobile application called "Plaja - Beach Finder", which is available for Android and iOS devices, and can be downloaded for free. He designed it after passing the eight-week StartIT Academy of the Split-Dalmatia County, an entrepreneurship education program, intended for individuals and teams who plan to develop their own IT product or service. The mobile app has been available for download since January 24 this year, and so far has over 8,000 downloads on all continents in nearly 100 countries worldwide.

"In less than 3 months, we have successfully digitized over 35 percent of the Croatian coast in cooperation with tourist boards, more precisely over 500 beaches in all counties in Croatia," said Dejan Grepo, adding that the greatest interest was shown by the Tourist Board in Split-Dalmatia County. more than 80 percent of them are involved in digitalization through the Plaja - Beach Finder mobile application.

Dejan Grepo believes that by including all tourist boards, the Croatian coast could become the number 1 in the world through the mobile application Playa - Beach Finder, which is digitized and accessible to everyone. "We believe that this is an excellent advertisement for Croatian tourism, and with a number of about 4,000 beaches, they would be the first in Europe and among the top 5 in the world," he concluded.
