Sleipner establishes wholly owned subsidiary in Croatia
Sleipner, the Norwegian manufacturer of advanced thruster and stabilisation systems, has announced plans to open a fully owned branch office in Croatia. The decision strengthens the company’s presence in the Adriatic following a decades-long partnership with local distributor AC Yachting, which has built a comprehensive sales and service network for Sleipner products across the country.
Over the past few years, Sleipner and AC Yachting have been discussing succession opportunities as founder Antun Cismic prepares for retirement. “We’re now at a point where it feels natural for both parties to take the next step,” says Marius Torjusen, Sleipner’s chief commercial officer.
“Working with Sleipner has been a privilege,” says Antun Cismic, and even though I’m planning to scale down my company in 2026, I will still be involved with the products and maintain relations to existing customers.”
“I would like to express my sincere thanks to Antun for the cooperation and the dedication he has shown Sleipner over the past decades,” Torjusen continued. “I’m glad to know that Antun will still be around to help navigate the transitional phase. He is a close friend of the brand and the Sleipner family, and I’m glad we found a solution allowing us to keep working with Antun as we’re gradually preparing to take more responsibility ourselves.”
Sleipner has appointed Ivan Kokeza as country manager to lead its new Croatian branch. Kokeza brings extensive marine industry experience and a strong understanding of after-sales market needs, making him well-suited to oversee operations and drive business development. The branch, which will include a representation office in Split, represents a significant step in enhancing Sleipner’s presence and service capabilities in this key European market.
Specialising in thrusters and stabilisation systems for boats and yachts up to 60m, Sleipner plans to open the Croatian branch in 2026, marking its eighth wholly owned subsidiary. The company employs over 250 people globally and generates an annual turnover of more than €70m.
