Feasibility study of the Pašman - mainland bridge completed soon

One of the most important projects for the island of Pašman is the Pašman - mainland bridge for which the Municipality of Pašman received the support of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure in September last year. A feasibility study has been ordered, financed by the Ministry in the amount of 700.000,00 HRK, and the documentation will be completed by the end of this month, the Otok Pašman portal reported.

The study, prepared by the international company Ernst & Young Savjetovanje d.o.o., elaborates two conceptual solutions for the road connection of the island with the bridge over the Pašman Channel. On the mainland, the bridge will be connected by the state road D8 with the future bypass Zadar - Pakoštane, and on the very shore of the Pašman Channel, the route exits at the position of Cape Tukljača. From the mainland, the route goes to the islet of Ričul, about 400 m from the coast, and continues towards the island of Pašman, crossing the Pašman Channel in the length of about 1400 m. On the island of Pašman, the bridge connects with the main road of the islands of Pašman and Ugljan.

The study elaborates two variants of the bridge that basically differ in the type of bridge and the dimensions of the navigable profiles that it satisfies at the point of passage of waterways. The total length of the bridge in both variants is approximately equal to approximately 2.2 km as well as the width of the road 6.6 m, which consists of two lanes 3 m wide and two edge lanes 0.3 m wide.

For the first variant, a solution with a girder type of bridge was chosen, which would provide navigable profiles 90 m wide and 35 m high on the waterway in the Pašman Channel for the direction north - south and south - north. The solution for the second variant includes a suspended type of bridge which would provide navigable profiles 140 m wide and 40 m high on the waterway. This variant of the bridge also envisages pedestrian paths 1.2 m wide on both sides of the road.

In its budget, the Municipality of Pašman has provided financial resources in the amount of 700.000,00 HRK for project documentation that should be prepared after the completion of the feasibility study.
