Concession agreement for nautical tourism port - Marina Draga signed
Zadar County prefect Božidar Longin in Drage signed a Concession Agreement for the port of nautical tourism - Marina Drage, with the future concessionaire VV Razvoj projekata d.o.o. Karlovac and Star turist d.o.o. Karlovac. It is a nautical tourism port worth almost 63 million HRK (€8,4m), and the marina, which will have more than 190 berths, should be completed in two years.
“Zadar County is at the forefront of nautical tourism. This will be another beautiful marina in our area. In our county we have 54 marinas, moorings, anchorages and dry berths", said Longin and added that Zadar County is Croatian largest nautical destination with an area intended for nautical tourism with 1.2 million m2, while with a capacity of 4233 berths it leads in total capacity.
"All of the above has resulted in direct revenues of almost 180 million HRK, while indirect revenues from nautical tourism are difficult to estimate, but we know they are large."
Vladimir Vukovic, director and owner of the concessionaire of the Draga marina, pointed out that the works may be completed earlier than stipulated in the contract.
"Our investment will amount to over 60 million HRK. In the concession period of 20 years, we plan to arrange a complete marina with a category of 4 anchors with all the accompanying activities, and we want the future pier that is under construction and the marina to become a center of social life, both for locals and tourists."
After signing the contract and starting works in the port of local importance open to public traffic, the Mayor of municipality of Pakoštane Milivoj Kurtov said that this is the second historic day for Drage, but also the Municipality which is known as a tourist destination, and will now be positioned on the nautical map.
"We hope that this same team will prepare a marina project for Pakoštane and we expect to go to a new tender at the end of the year. In addition to all the facilities we have as a family and camping destination, we will also become a nautical destination, which is very important for the extension of the season", said Kurtov.
