WC ILCA 7: Stipanović 6th after four races, Jurišić 12th

The ILCA 7 Olympic World Championship (formerly Laser) held in the Mexican Riviera Narayit is entering its final third. Four of the six races were held, and Croatian representatives who were close to the top of the standings after the first two races experienced a drop in the standings. Double Olympic runner-up Tonči Stipanović, who was second after the opening two races, slipped to sixth place after the third and fourth races. He was third in the third race, while he did not even finish the fourth. A mitigating circumstance is that the two weakest races will not enter the final schedule, so Stipanović still has a great opportunity to be at the very top of the standings. In the three completed races so far, Stipanović has collected 19 negative points.

Stipanović's teammate from JK Mornar, Filip Jurišić, also fell in the standings by eight places after finishing the first day in a high fourth place. The third race did not end, while in the fourth he was 13th and is currently 12th with a total of 36 penalty points. The third Croatian representative in Mexico, Bruno Gašpić, managed to make a slight step forward and came from 51st to 49th place. After four completed races, the Frenchman Jean-Baptiste Bernaz is at the top of the column with 27 penalty points and second and third place in the last two races. He is followed by the British duo, Daniel Whiteley and Eliot Hanson.
