This year’s Mediterranean Yacht Show to be record-breaking event

With the start of the pre-season charter shows in Italy, Spain, Greece and Turkey just over a month away, the organiser of the Mediterranean Yacht Show 2025 (MEDYS 2025) has released information highlighting the event’s 10th anniversary this year.

MEDYS 2025 is due to be held in the Greek port of Nafplion from 3-7 May 2025, and this year’s edition is set to be the biggest yet. The organisers have indicated that 114 yachts are already registered for the 94 berths that are available in the port. This means that MEDYS has a waiting list, as in previous years.

The show has developed to become the world’s largest crewed yacht charter show. Over the past few years, MEDYS 2025 has increasingly reflected the growing significance of Greece and its presence within the international yacht charter market.

Michael Skoulikidis, president of the Greek Yachting Association (GYA), the organiser of MEDYS, explained how the show has advanced in recent years. “What transformed our ambition into reality was persistence,” he says. “Our drive and unwavering commitment to keep moving forward, no matter the challenges we face, are what established us as a benchmark event that brings together a stellar fleet, a highly-qualified international audience, and a network of exhibitors and sponsors.

“This year, the MEDYS is poised to set new records with 114 yachts already registered and vying for the 94 berths that are available in the port of Nafplion. The waiting list, which has become an annual occurrence, speaks volumes about the show’s prestige and Greece’s growing influence in the international charter market.“

Skoulikidis points to the event not just being about numbers but about yachting heritage combined with cutting-edge innovation and new relationships forged through the networking that takes place. Greek hospitality is also another factor.

He points to yacht viewings always being on the top of the agenda but, when the day is done, there are endless networking opportunities to take advantage of such as the gala opening event, by-invitation yacht parties, impromptu gatherings hosted by exhibitors, and dinners that are all part of the MEDYS calendar.

He also extended the gratitude of the Greek Yachting Association to the attending yachts, crews, sponsors, exhibitors, press and local community.
