Internautica returns after a four-year absence

Internautica, Slovenia’s largest boat show, returns after a four-year absence. The show offers a line-up of premieres in sportsboats, yachts, sailing boats, and inflatables at Portorož Marina, and takes place from May 18 to 22, reports The Slovenia Times.

In addition to showcasing boats, the event includes a wide range of nautical equipment, services, clothing, as well as motorhomes and electric vehicles. Reviving the show was challenging for the organisers due to the major restructuring that occurred in the nautical industry during the four-year hiatus. Many exhibitors had shifted their focus to different business ventures and were no longer part of the event.

However, boat designer Japec Jakopin notes that the global nautical industry is currently experiencing an unprecedented resurgence. This resurgence is of great significance for the Slovenian nautical industry, which generates around €150m in revenue and employs approximately 1,200 to 1,400.

This year’s fair emphasises environmental concerns, featuring innovations in sustainable mobility and hosting exhibitions on plastic pollution and the consequences of irresponsible sea management. The fair will also award blue flags to recognise the cleanest bathing sites.
