Everything is ready for the start of the Paiška regatta
On Friday, April 29, the waters in front of Split will be whitewashed, because this year's Paiška Regatta starts at 10 am, which this year will be sailed from April 29 to May 1 on the standard route Split-Stari Grad-Split. After a long winter, the crews will set sail again for "Paiz" (Stari Grad on Hvar). The hosts, the Labud sailing club, the Stari Grad Tourist Board and the City of Stari Grad, led by Mayor Antonio Škarp, prepared a rich program of events for the sailors.
Thus, on Friday from 6 pm to 7 pm, all sailors will be offered a warm welcome and a musical welcome right in front of the berth on the waterfront. On Saturday at 12.30, one regatta race will start in the bay if there are 10 registered crews (5 have registered so far), and on Saturday, starting at 8 pm, the concert of the rock band Cortez will end. The fun is not over, because from 5 pm on Saturday, sailors will have at their disposal 2 optimist class sailboats for the match race competition on the mini route in the port itself. Of course, special prizes are ready for all participants.
The director of the regatta, Damir Skelin, points out: "The interest of sailors is greater than last year and it is an incentive for the entire team participating in the organization of the Paiška regatta to further develop the program of events in the next editions." returning to the finish line in Split on Sunday, we provided refreshments to the sailors from 6 pm on the plateau of the Labud sailing club after a full day of sailing. "
He also commented on the kindness and help of the County Port Authority and the Port Authority of Split, which are always happy to support the sailing club Labud in organizing regattas, and expressed gratitude to Raiffeisen Leasing, which recognized the potential of this project and accepted sponsorship of the Paiška Regatta. Stari Grad, which is extremely attractive to sailors, and due to the high occupancy of moorings during the main season, is looking forward to developing such a nautical and sporting event, which in the pre-season allows sailors to enjoy everything the island of Hvar has to offer.
