Domination of Panjić at the Cro Melges 24 Cup regatta in Biograd
CRO Melges24 Cup, a sailing spectacle and one of the strongest Croatian regattas, last weekend had its second race of the season in Biograd na Moru, organized by the local JK Briva. After the second season opened at the end of January in Dubrovnik with as many as 13 boats sailing the top names of Croatian sailing, including current and former Olympians, world and European champions, winners of numerous prestigious regattas, and the second Biograd race offered high sailing quality and an exciting race in which the second victory was recorded by the crew of the sailing boat Panjić from JK "Briva" consisting of Luka Šangulin, Tomislav Bašić, Duje Fržop, Tonko Rameša and Noa Šangulin.
In the full program, after six races, the local crew won three first places and proved to be an extremely inhospitable host in a great competition consisting of some of the best names in Croatian sailing. The superbly coordinated crew, great reactions on the regatta field and the home field made Panjić invincible in Biograd. The Cro-a-Sail crew finished second, followed by the Cezibordo, while in the Corinthian group (amateur crews) the best was the Mataran 24 crew from Trogir.
The next, third, regatta is scheduled for 19 and March 20 in Opatija, hosted by Opatija's JK "Croatia", after which regattas will be held in Rovinj, Split and Zadar until the end of the year, which will host the Croatian Championship, and the international leadership of the class decided that Rovinj will this year to be the organizer and the first regatta of the European Sailing Series in the Melges class 24.
