Domination of Furiosa at the 1st Skradin cruiser regatta

The sailing club Kon Tiki in cooperation with the ACI marina Skradin organized the 1st Skradin cruiser regatta, and probably the first cruiser regatta with Croatian crews on Prokljansko Lake. The good promotion of this regatta gathered a really impressive fleet in Skradin. Sailboats arrived from the Zadar, Šibenik and Split waters and it can be said that it was a gathering of most of the most attractive regatta cruisers on this side of the Adriatic.

There were a total of 19 boats on the starting list, and a total of four races were sailed on the only day of the competition. The weather conditions, it can be said without any exaggeration, were ideal! In the first race, the wind was the weakest. A dozen knots were blowing, and as the day wore on, the south wind grew stronger, and in the last voyage, about 20 knots were blowing.

The regatta was dominated by Furiosa from JK Uskok. Igor Čupić's crew won in as many as three races, while in the last it was second. Then the leading position was taken away by the ACI crew on Clubswan 36 with Ivan Kljaković Gašpić at the helm. His team finished second in the first three races. The most stable result in terms of results was another Uskok crew, this time on the sailing boat Gringo 3. Robert Sandalić's team crossed the finish line in third place all four times.

It was interesting to predict the outcome on the regatta field, considering that each of the sailboats in the first ten had its own special trump card. Furiosa, a sailboat that was also declared the fastest in the regatta, in addition to being the longest (with the exception of the Bavaria Cruiser - Elfida), has in its arsenal water ballasts that were very helpful in relation to the foils for which Clubswan 36 stood out. On the other hand Gringo 3, All4One, Mr.J are without special accessories and the sailboats are of the classic type, but with their line and sails prepared for sailing in the ORC Cup, they successfully competed against another ballast, Magnuma X3 Crazy rating races, etc. In any case, it was an event that should not be missed next year at the second edition, because such sailing conditions with enough wind, no waves, and even the fact that this is the only freshwater cruiser regatta in Croatia, point out Skradin regatta in the HJS calendar.
