Boot Tulln canceled for the second year running
Boot Tulln, Austria’s national boat show, has been cancelled for the second year running.
The largest boat and watersports fair in Austria – known as a hotspot for electric boating – was due to be held from March 3-6 at Messe Tulln. It is the most important boat show in the alpine region and an important market for the charter business in southeastern Europe. Tulln, a charming town directly on the River Danube, just 40km from the capital Vienna, now joins the ranks of much larger boat show cancellations such as Boot Düsseldorf.
The reason for the second cancellation is the corona-related ban on trade fairs imposed by the Austrian federal government; the organisers of the small trade fair no longer expect the situation to ease by the beginning of March. Boot Tulln 2022 was completely booked out with around 300 exhibitors and the highest number of premieres in the history of the boat and watersports fair. A new exhibition hall (Hall 1) was to accommodate the newly designed ‘Superboats & Day Cruisers’ area, a market segment that has been promoted heavily in recent years. Shipyards from Austria such as Frauscher and Marian are particularly strong in this segment.
