Azimut Grande 26M launches in Viareggio
Italy’s Azimut Yachts has launched the new Grande 26M motoryacht at its yard in Viareggio ahead of its world debut at Cannes. Like the Grande 36M, exterior styling on the Grande 26M is by Alberto Mancini, while the interiors are by design firm Achille Salvagni. It is based on a new concept characterised by fluid layouts and versatile spaces, guest and crew flows designed for intimacy and independence, an owner’s suite on the main deck with full-height windows, and lots of light.
The Grande 26M also features Azimut’s innovative Deck2Deck, a terrace that expands out over the sea. In this innovative design, the opening transom comes all the way up to lie flush with the aft edge of the main deck and expands the cockpit used either as a lounge space or a dining area with a walkaround table.
The Grande 26M is one of Azimut’s new generation of Low Emission Yachts, and the first in any category to be fitted with the new 4600 Pod propulsion system developed by ZF. Azimut says that the combined effect of high-efficiency propulsion systems and a superstructure weighing 30% less, thanks to the extensive use of carbon fibre, translates into a 20% reduction in fuel consumption compared with boats the same size.
The Grande 26M will be on display alongside other Azimut models at the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
